Zel for RWT

Solely performed the necessary steps of garment creation including sourcing fabric and materials, draping, drafting patterns, cutting, technical production, and fittings and alterations. Design was directly inspired by Mugler for Beyonce’s 2023 Renaissance World Tour. Pattern was created fully by hand through draping on a dress form personalized to the client. Pieces of plastic were cut according to the pattern and molded to the client’s figure via a heat gun. The heated plastic acted as its own adhesive, and variations of colored latex fabrics were added on top. Industrial velcro and a zipper were added for easy access in and out of the garment, and a mixture of spray paint and silver chrome powder was used for extra details. Extra large black zip ties were used as the “bee stingers” placed at the hip.

Garment is a fully custom couture piece for personal client Elizabeth Downey and was worn to Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour in New Orleans.
